Art Journal page - Ho Ho Ho

Just really my first sort of finished journal page. Its real funny but, as Im not real xmasy, so god knows how I got the images and it all came together as a xmasy sort of page. Maybe somenes telling me something, lol
I know its not out of this world but Its a start
A lot of credit goes to Christy Sobolewski for the constant inspiration.

Transfer Workshop with My Creative Classroom

This was my first Gel medium Transfer and it worked absolutely beautifully. I cant say much for the colours and the rest of it but I am learning. The Derivan Gel Medium was the one I used and it was great. Catherine Scanlon was the teacher and she is such a lovely person. Very kind and extremely helpful. I do have to work on the other lessons still as Im in a lot of pain at the moment

Canvas- She Art style

This was the first canvas Ive ever done. A friend of mine, Sarah from Gumnuts cards and craft, and I played at her shop one day. Id always wanted to learn how to do a canvas project so she showed me how. WOO HOO!!
I added my cat, Dawson, who started my scrapping & Art journey (who is still deeply missed). I really Like this.
Ive also just joined 2 months ago the She Art and She Art 2 classes by Christy Thomlinson and have learnt heaps more there.
Ive just also joined Willowing.org which is an awesome site and Tam (the owner) also has some excellent free classes but Id also like to do the Life Book course which is a year long mixed media journey. Last night I joined artjournaling.ning.com and I cant wait to get in and have a look tonight. I also joined flutterbye.ning.com and am going to have a look tonight too
Ive been playing with Art Geeks Prompt 1 and 2 and 1 didn't work out too good but by going over it with white paint the mists that didn't cover the dark paper still show through the paint and I'm quite liking it but i still got to finish it and Ill show the before and afters, lol.

Art Journals, Mixed Media & Stuff I'm Getting Into

Well, It's been ages since I've actually posted but I've just joined Art Geeks & well, they wanted a blog - we have to share somehow don't we. I've been trying to learn about Mixed Media alot lately & absolutely love how you can jump from page to page without having to complete something til you re ready with the Art Journals. That makes it VERY freeing. I'm trying to learn as much as i can about Mixed Media & Art Journals & am looking at tons of blogs for inspiration. The most inspiring ones and my fav's so far that I've found so far are Gulfsprite (aka Christy Sobolewski), who also has a private group called Art Geeks where you get monthly prompts for your Art Journals. I absolutely Love her work and she is a very talented lady who shares so much of her knowledge with excellent videos. I also love Donna Downey's blog - Simply Me and Christy Thomlinson's blog - Creatively Inspired to name just a few.
Id better come back later & update the whole blog as everything is a couple of years old - links & all the other stuff & if i get a chance I'll put some pics up of some stuff I've done over the period I've been off the blog
I'll also update some stuff I've been working on lately when I get a chance to take some pics in some half decent light.
Thanks for dropping by

Believe in yourself layout

This is the first time Ive been able to scrap at home for awhile. Probably cause the School Holidays are coming up in 4 days so my stress is diminishing. Its got nothing to do with the kids on the bus as theyre all great kids. The bus, which is 2yrs old, keeps breaking down and so I seem to spend more time at the mechanics than home and when Im home im too exhausted to consider doing a Layout even though thats what my head wants to do. This is my youngest son ben at a Motocross event at harvey when he was about 12 - 13yrs old. He is now 17yrs old

A Picture of Dawson

This is the only picture of Dawson that I could find on this computer for now & until I get the chance to get my other pics scanned up. He was sadly taken away way too early and so that was how my scrapping journey started as it was the only way I could think of to keep his memory alive more than just thinking about him.
Ive been a bit busy lately with the bus breaking down & havent had the energy when i get home to do anything so my goal this week is to get some layouts up & some pictures of the absolutely gorgeous Dusty Attic Laser cut Chipboard & cardstock goodys so you can see what Im raving on about
anyway take care all

Stuff I Love at the Moment

My favorite stuff at the moment, that I'm absolutely in love with, is the Laser cut Chipboard & Card stock available at . When I get some time I'll put up some photo's of the laser cut chipboard & cardstock that has made me more of a shopaholic than i normally am. It is absolutely amazing & every new piece i see inspires me to buy it because its new & I love new, different products. But when am i gonna have the time to scrap all the stuff I'm buying? Although, you can never have too much stash! LOL. Even with all the stash I have I find theres always something that i want that I don't have. Its just never ending.

Ive been buying scrapping goodies for about 3yrs now & basically wanted to scrap to deal with the loss of a very loved cat (Dawson) who was like my other half to me. Some of the stuff I bought at the start- Geez, I don't know what I was thinking then. I didn't start scrapping til about a year after that when I signed up for classes at Coastal Scrapbooking in Mandurah and started doing Layouts once a week there for about 4 - 5 months until it closed. I made some beautiful, stunning Layouts there in the classes with Deb Hitchcock who is so talented & I learnt how to do all the basic things & some fantastic techniques. I stopped scrapping when the shop shut as i still had no idea how to make/ come up with a layout of my own. I did have a couple of sad attempts that were nowhere near as good as debs Layoouts so I gave up. Maybe the creative juices couldn't flow with all the stress i was under but thats when you need to scrap more.
I continued to buy scrapping goodies but & then learnt how to knit & started knitting over the winter. Made some nice stuff that i gave to my mum.
During an E-Bay buying session about 8 months ago I ran into a fellow scrapper called Jen (proud owner of The Dusty Attic) who lived not too far away & was having weekly scrapping sessions. She asked if Id like to come & scrap & Lo & behold a few people who used to scrap at the old Mandurah shop scrapped there too & Ive been religiously going there every Wednesday ever since (Providing the schoolbus doesnt break down). I have learnt a fair bit more since going there & all of the scrap Layouts that Jen comes up with every week are absolutely stunning. I love going there as it's my one time in the week where I can scrap & not get distracted by anything else (except the gorgeous Laser cut chipboard/Card stock designs she comes up with weekly. Of course, we all put in our own orders every week that she cuts to whatever we want- She is a LEGEND.) except all of us girls cracking funny jokes & laughing our heads off makes me one of the slowest to finish. It is the one day of the week that I get upset if I cant get there as i love the laughter & jokes & good times we have & it makes me so happy for the rest of the week.
Head over & check out all the gorgeous stuff at
. You won't be disappointed.

Now trying to load the very first scrapbook page I entered into a sketch competition at 123 scrapbook.com. this was in the October sketch comp. I basically did the layout in Kaisercrafts Childs Play range of papers
